2 Years

February 7th Ed and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary. 2 years ago around this time we went on our first date to Applebee's and then back to my dorm room to watch the Sabres take on Ottawa. Keeping in tradition, now every year on our anniversary we watch a hockey game. The first anniversary we went to a CAPS game in Buffalo and this year we went to a CAPS game in DC! It was the first time for both of us at the Verizon Center.

Ed came down for the week and we spent a lot of time together. On Tuesday we went to DC in the morning to visit the American History museum and to get dinner before the game. We got there at 10 and went to the museum. Then we walked up to Chinatown and had lunch. We walked around more and at 4 we went to dinner at a Tapas restaurant right next to the Verizon center. Now with Ed being a picky eater I was not sure we would like it I wanted to go to try something new and they had amazing prices for pitchers of drinks! Always a plus. The restaurant was called La Tasca. They serve small plates of different kinds of spanish food. It was all so yummy and very well priced. We had an unlimited menu $20 each, $15 drink pitchers, and the service was amazing giving us ideas of different things to try, free shots for our anniversary and a free pitcher to celebrate our first time at La Tasca!

Here are a few of the dishes we enjoyed. Bacon wrapped pork and lamb chops, mussels, Valencia paella, and spicy garlic shrimp. It was all soo good and perfect size! We both really enjoyed the chicken. (not pictured)

By the time we finished our pitchers we were both pretty tipsy and bought a few more items at the team store than we might have other wise. Over all the day was fantastic! We both had a lot of fun spending time together and exploring as well as watching the CAPS win!

I am sad that Ed had to go home so soon but I will see him again in a month! Counting down the days already. But the week ended on a good note with my Valentines day present: A massage :)

Olive

Ed and I got a dog on Labor day this past September 2011. We adopted her from a family that could no longer manage her, as she kept attacking their chickens. She is the second dog we have had. The first we adopted from a family that did not recognize that having a dog is a lot of responsibility and meaning they have to take care of it even if it got sick. Our first dog was Sassy, and boy was she sassy! We adopted her in April of 2011. We took her everywhere with us. She was the best black lab that I could ever have asked for. Well it turns out the reason the family could no longer afford her was that she had stage 4 liver cancer, which they failed to tell us. We found out when she started to get stick and not be able to walk. It would have been better had we known so that we could have put her on a better diet. Well that being said we had to put her down in August 2011. Which was exactly a year after Ed's dog Smudge got hit by a car. So we have not had much luck with dogs. When we got Pepper we thought it was fantastic. She was just a year old and trained but was still trainable. Took her to the vet, and they said she was in perfect condition. Well about 2 weeks after the vet, Pepper had puppies! (10/4, which is national CB radio day) 5 puppies to be specific, and on Ed's bed next to his head while he was sleeping. So after nurturing the puppies for 2 months we finally gave them away.

My mom took one as our late dog Hannah passed away in October. We now have Olive, a little terror. She is very energetic and loveable but having a puppy is hard. She loves to play early in the morning and always has energy! My favorite days are when she gets shots and is sleepy. She is very well behaved except for her chewing behavior. She is a spit and is very cuddly.

Life After College!

I recently graduated from St. Bonaventure a semester early. When I went into college my plan was to stay the full 4 years and then see where life takes me. But wanting to have all the areas on my audit complete I took a few classes over the summer and had enough credits to finish early. Now that I have finished I wish I could go back! In college every thing was set and not to many choices had to be made. ie, money was received through loans, work study, parents or borrowing from friends, also all the days were filled with a schedule. So I knew that each day I had classes and had to do work for classes. That life was fantastic. This was a fantastic quote that I heard my freshman year, I know it is from a movie but not sure which,

“You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You'll never remember class time, but you'll remember time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So, stay out late. Go out on a Tuesday with your friends when you have a paper due Wednesday. Spend money you don't have. Drink 'til su...nrise. The work never ends, but college does..."

We did what we want, ate and drank what we wanted, went where we want, and had no rules or worries! I will miss that but I will never forget the fun and awesome friends I made.

So far after college, I have a part time job working with Camp Fire USA doing family strengthening and club program. It's not a bad job but it is not the best either. It is fun working with the people and the trainings are generally informative. Also I have a very flexible schedule, I can wake when I want, work out when I want and coach lacrosse at my high school Bishop McNamara. Which brings me to my next thing, I am coaching lacrosse for the team that I started almost 8 years ago! It will be fun but I am nervous as I have never coached and haven't played in what seems like forever. I am reading up on all lacrosse stuff, to make sure I feel confident though!

This February marks the 2 year anniversary for Ed and myself. Neither of us are sure the exact day so we celebrate the 7th-14th. We have a tradition of watching the CAPS game. The first date we watched it on MSG in my dorm room, the 1st anniversary we went to the game in Buffalo, and this year we are going to the game in DC. They always seem to play the Sabres so it makes for an awesome game! Super excited that he will be down here for the whole week. It has been 3 weeks since I saw him last. We are trying to figure things out with him finding a job down here so we can settle down together. We shall see what the future brings!

Since I do have such a flexible schedule and a lot of time on my hands I have taken to working out several times a day. I spent most of my time at the gym and am trying to get a handle back on my health. It just seems like it is time. Wish me luck as I am embarking on this journey, this is what my mind is really set on for the next few moths, changing my life style!
